ENERGEX's ''Look Up and Live'' advertisements encourage the community to become familiar where powerlines were located at their workplace and home before commencing work or recreational activities around the property.
This year's campaign featured people accidentally coming into contact with powerlines while doing everyday activities such as cleaning a pool, trimming trees with a chainsaw and throwing a Frisbee.
In the three years ''Look Up and Live'' campaigns have been running there have been no overhead powerline strike-related deaths in ENERGEX's South East Queensland electricity network area.
But Mr. Swanston said this great result didn't mean ENERGEX or the community could become complacent about electrical safety.
"This spring ENERGEX will be continuing the 'Look Up and Live' message by encouraging sailboat owners to lower their masts before towing them up the ramp," he said.
"We have seen a number of cases in recent years where boaties have driven off without lowering their masts which have then pulled down powerlines -- so we think it is a timely message to get into the community."
It seems South East Queenslanders were also appreciative of the role ENERGEX plays in the area.
Nearly 97.3 percent of customers surveyed were in favour of ENERGEX's electrical safety campaigns and 86.9 percent agreed that the organisation made a positive contribution to the community.
